Event Log
10" steel log. Single-rep clean-and-press max. 4 attempts. Minimum starting log weight is 77 lbs.
1" handles are inside in a neutral (parallel grip) approx 24" apart.
Competitors choose when they want to step in and attempt a one-rep clean-and-press to lock-out. Wait for the judge's "down" call before bringing the log down (lock-out must be steady to count)
You get at most four attempts. But, if you miss twice, at any weight, then you're done (regardless of how many attempts you have left).
Your rank is determined by your heaviest successful lift.
An attempt begins once the log leaves the ground, and ends when it is set back down. Multiple press attempts within one turn are OK, as long as the log is not returned to the ground in between.
Monitor Toss
Three attempts to heave a 30 lb monitor for distance.
For spectator safety, only forward-launching-style throws are permitted (e.g. shotput style).
Quicksort
Five concrete-filled monitors, labeled by weight, sitting out-of-order on five numbered platforms, with one buffer platform.
Put the monitors into ascending order (one per platform) as fast as possible.
• Only one monitor can be in transit (not resting on a platform) at any time.
• No more than one monitor is allowed on a platform at any time.
Max of 2 minutes, then ranked by # of monitors placed on the correct final platforms (in absolute order, not relative).
Initial configuration will be announced a couple weeks before the competition.
Monitor weights (subject to slight changes):
Open: 75, 135, 155, 225, 250
Novice: 30, 75, 135, 155, 225
Women: 30, 40, 75, 90, 135
Bit Flip
Flip the tire 8 times in the least amount of time.
The tire starts vertically and is pushed over.
The timer starts as soon as it hits the ground (the 0th flip) and stops when it hits the ground
after the 8th flip.
Max of 1 minute, then ranked by # of flips completed.
Tire weights:
Women's: 300 lbs
Novice: 540 lbs
Open: 775 lbs
FLOPS
(FLoating point Operations Per Second)
Lift a stone over a bar, then correctly convert a 4-bit binary number to decimal to earn your next attempt (you will be shown flashcards).
If you think this sounds hard, it's not as hard as you think (if you can add 8, 4, 2, and 1). Study guide will be on the website soon.
Open: 240 lbs over 48" bar
Novice: 160 lbs over 42" bar
Women: 120 lbs over 30" bar
